The UK Sexual Orientations Regulations are to be contested in the House of Commons at the beginning of March. At present these Regulations are aimed at compelling all adoption agencies to accept homosexual couples as potential guardians. In fact the issue at stake here is not to do with homosexuality or homophobia, but is precisely that one group of people is demanding that another group of people (in this case Catholic Adoption Agencies) offer services which they in conscience cannot deliver. It is always very dangerous territory when a government legislates for conscience.
Could I suggest that you to make a Novena to St Thomas More asking for his intercession, that this matter be overturned by grace and by a surge in public opinion. You might like to cut and paste this Litany:

It is appalling that one ideological group (sexual desire should be protected by the state) imposes its own morality (if any) on the whole of a society and in the present case, the Catholic adoption agencies are left with no choice.
Family is an institution which the state honours and grants privilege because of its essential values for the common good of the society. Parents of opposite sexes provide a stable structure for the development of a child. Same-sex parenting deprives the children from learning the difference between sexes. Human procreation and generation are utterly about this difference.
I didn't discover this novena prayer in time so I won't be able to fulfil the nine days obligation. But with my limited measures I shall pray that God intervene this tragedy, in whichever way He deems necessary.
In times of "persecution" (is it too strong a word to use now?), dear Fathers, the Sacred-Heart will triumph, so be courageous!

I do hope that anyone reading this part of the blog will take some sort of action to lobby the government over this scandalous situation.
