The Old double act reunited in cyberspace

Ta-da! It'll come as no surprise to anyone who knows who's who and what's what that Fr Richard has now been joined by Fr Julian Green as contributor to this blog. The two of us have been working together for a few years promoting the New Evangelisation especially among young people. Retreats, formation weekends, peripatetic evangelisation, making merry mirth with creative use of language, and creative use of food - you name it, we're involved in it. We're also involved in working together under the guidance of Our Lady and St John Mary Vianney to bring the Good News of the Faith to young people as well as to support each other in priestly ministry. Anyway, more later...

Hello Father! Perhaps you could explain to me and your readers, in a dedicated post, what the 'New Evangelisation' actually is? And perhaps how it compares to the 'old evangelisation'! I'm sorry if I appear thick - this is a concept that has never been fully explained to me. Perhaps it's due to the fact that so many Catholics have fallen away from the Church in the last 40 years? They need 're-evangelising' because they weren't properly taught the faith in the first place?

That's basically it. It's particularly applicable to the role of the Church in contemporary western neo-pagan culture. But I shall do a full post soon. When I have time!
