Fr Magoo reads Redemptionis Sacramentum

Sometimes I wonder whether I'm reading the same documents as other people, or are they just ignoring them? This cartoon tickled me somewhat.

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed reading your blog, Fathers... I can't believe that I've only just stumbled upon it!!

How true, how sadly true... We were told that rubrics are only a rough guide, liturgy should be done in the spirit of the time and place - Tosh??

Ubertosh. Yes you can adapt things like style of music, solemnity, etc but not the rubrics. Not that I'm a slave. Rubrics were made for the priest not the priest for the rubrics. But I find it so much easier in celebrating Holy Mass to say what's in black and do what's in red.
